Caffeine
Caffeine’s influence on AFib has sparked debate over the years. While there was once a blanket recommendation to avoid caffeine for individuals with AFib, recent clinical studies haven’t conclusively linked caffeine intake to AFib episodes. [5]
Regular coffee consumption, up to 300 mg of caffeine (equivalent to 3 cups per day), might even reduce AFib risk. However, energy drinks laden with high caffeine concentrations and additional stimulants have been associated with adverse cardiovascular events, making them a potential concern for those with AFib.
