Shortness of Breath
When plaque accumulates in the arteries that supply the heart (a condition often caused by high cholesterol), it can lead to heart disease, manifesting as shortness of breath. This symptom occurs because the heart cannot pump enough blood to meet the body’s needs during physical exertion or, in more severe cases, at rest.
Fatigue
Excessive tiredness or fatigue can emerge from diminished blood flow due to narrowed arteries, a situation often caused by high cholesterol. When organs and muscles receive less oxygen and nutrients than needed, the result can be an overwhelming sense of fatigue.
