Citrus Fruits
Citrus fruits like oranges, grapefruits, and lemons are associated with reduced cancer risk. A large study [13] found a correlation between higher citrus fruit intake and lower risks of digestive and upper respiratory tract cancers. Similar observations align with some reviews indicating reduced pancreatic cancer risk with increased citrus fruit consumption.
Adding a few servings of citrus fruits weekly to one’s diet might potentially lower the risk of certain cancers.
Turmeric
Turmeric’s active compound, curcumin, showcases anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and potentially anticancer effects. Studies on colon lesions observed a 40% reduction post 30 days of curcumin consumption. [14] Test-tube experiments reveal curcumin’s impact on reducing colon, head, and neck cancer cell growth.
Adding about 1/2 – 3 teaspoons daily of ground turmeric into your meals could potentially aid in cancer prevention.
