Sardines
Sardines, though packed with healthy omega-3 fatty acids, can be problematic during diarrhea. Their high fat and oil content can exacerbate symptoms by making stools greasier and more challenging to control. Moreover, the rich taste of sardines can sometimes stimulate the digestive system too much when it’s already in a delicate state.[3]
Raw Spinach
While vegetables are generally considered healthy, raw spinach can be difficult to digest during episodes of diarrhea due to its high fiber content. Fiber is typically beneficial for digestive health, but during diarrhea, it can accelerate bowel movements and exacerbate symptoms. The insoluble fiber in raw spinach can irritate an already sensitive digestive tract, making it a less-than-ideal choice.[4]
